Maybe Microsoft Finally Got It Right with Microsoft Agent Framework
Let's talk about Microsoft's NEWEST agentic framework — Microsoft Agent Framework
I mean… c’mon. Microsoft has shipped a lot of “next big thing” AI frameworks lately.
First it was Semantic Kernel. Then AutoGen showed up. Every few months, there’s a new framework, a new promise, and a new “this is the future” narrative.
And now we have Microsoft Agent Framework, which, according to Microsoft is… the best agentic framework that combines the strengths of Semantic Kernel and AutoGen.
I’ve heard that before. But as techies and architects, we need to be aware of what’s coming so we can prepare and make informed decisions about solutions at work.
In my newest YouTube video, I show a quick demo where we use the Microsoft Agent Framework and the A2A protocol to enable communication between agents, using tools to persist state in Cosmos DB.
Who knows if this is really the path forward for Microsoft? At the very least, it’s fun—and since it’s Sunday, why not give it a try?
